Manchester United Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This Crystal Palace Left-Back: Good Option For Carrick?

In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke mentioned that Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Crystal Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell. It has been claimed that the Red Devils are eager to land the English talent as Michael Carrick looks to strengthen his squad next year.

Mitchell’s Impressive Form In English Football

Mitchell has made a promising start to this Premier League campaign as he has put in a few impressive displays on the left side of Crystal Palace’s defence. The English defender has scored two goals in six appearances for the Eagles this season across all fronts.

The 27-year-old is currently one of the most talented full-backs in the Premier League. Hence, it is no surprise that the Red Devils are showing interest in bringing him to Old Trafford in 2027.

His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Man United to land him on the cheap this January or on a free transfer next summer.

Will Mitchell Be A Good Option For Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick?

Mitchell is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a decent crosser as well from the left flank.

The English sensation can even chip in by scoring the odd goal for his team and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. Mitchell is primarily a left-back but can also feature as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man United if they manage to acquire his services next year.

We can expect Mitchell to add more quality and depth to Michael Carrick’s defence. He is good enough to challenge Luke Shaw for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford.

At 27, Mitchell is about to enter his prime, which makes him a great option for the Mancunian giants to consider this January or at the end of this season. He will also help Man United compete across all fronts over the next few years.
