Manchester United 'make Michael Carrick sack decision' after Chelsea defeat

Red Devils’ boss is on the brink after another loss
The Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by the Blues on another dark day at Stamford Bridge, taking their winless run to nine matches in all competitions.
Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer got the goals as Lisandro Martinez was sent off for two bookable offences in west London as further pressure piled on the under-fire United head coach.
Now, however, it appears that he will be retained in-post for the club’s next two matches, up to the November international break.

That comes via reports from The Athletic, who claim that United’s ‘crisis talks’ held last week following heavy defeats by Como and Bournemouth resulted in an agreement to keep Carrick in his job up until the international break before another assessment was made.
As such, it meant that Carrick avoided what had seemed like an inevitable sack after the 3-0 thrashing against Bournemouth at Old Trafford, where the former midfielder looked as though he was waving goodbye to the home supporters.
United fans that travelled to west London vented their frustrations in the direction of the club’s hierarchy and the out-of-form players, but they sang Carrick’s name and applauded their under-pressure manager as he went over to them at the full-time whistle.
Carrick insisted that he would remain in charge in a short-worded TV interview with TNT Sports after the match, and he will take his men into their next couple of games against Roma in the Champions League before a blockbuster home clash against Aston Villa next weekend.
