Manchester United have made exciting prospect Chido Obi available for loan this summer and clubs are queueing up to sign him.

The 18-year-old has been seen as one of the brightest talents in the Manchester United academy since joining from Arsenal in 2024.

The Dane has already made eight appearances for the senior team, but his real breakthrough has not come to fruition yet.

While he has been prolific at youth level, he is yet to convince manager Michael Carrick that he is ready for the step up to the senior side on a regular basis.

All eight of his outings for the Red Devils so far came in the 2024/25 season, with Carrick not picking him at all in the second half of the last campaign.

As such, the United boss is happy for the teenager to go out and gain first team experience elsewhere, but only if the right opportunity emerges.

Danish publication TipsBladet report that there is ‘massive interest’ in taking Obi on loan, from both England and abroad.

However, the report also states that Manchester United are open to keeping him at the club, with a busy schedule ahead as they return to European football.

Regular playing time in the right environment must be on offer for them to send out their young Danish prospect on a short-term deal.

Progress for the young forward has maybe been a little slower than hoped since he became the youngest player to start a Premier League match for Manchester United in May 2025.

Obi was just 17 years and 156 days old when he started against Brentford last year.

He has continued to play for the Under-21 side, scoring 19 goals in 40 appearances last season.
