According to The Athletic,

Manchester United

are close to signing

Youri Tielemans

from

Aston Villa

for €41m.

The Belgian midfielder would move to Old Trafford for the value of his release clause, with a medical expected in the coming days.

Tielemans is contracted to Villa until 2028. The club, coached by Unai Emery, had made several offers to extend his deal in a bid to remove the clause.

Back in the Champions League, United are continuing an ambitious window after bringing in Andrey Santos.

After an impressive World Cup and another solid season with Villa, Tielemans would add depth and experience to Michael Carrick’s team.
