Melvine Malard completes Chelsea move from Manchester United

Melvine Malard has signed for Chelsea on a four-year contract after leaving Manchester United, the club announced on Monday.

The France forward, 26, had been at United since 2023 and departs after three seasons, but remains in the Premier League. She has 41 caps and 14 goals for Les Bleues.

Malard said her aim is to improve every day and win trophies, and that Chelsea share that ambition.

At Chelsea she will reunite with head coach Sonia Bompastor, who previously managed her at Olympique Lyonnais and led the club to the 2022 Champions League title.

She will be team-mates with compatriot Sandy Baltimore. For the Red Devils, Malard recorded 23 goals and 16 assists in 95 appearances across all competitions, and lifted the FA Cup in 2023.
