Leo Messisaid goodbye to the Argentina national team on the pitch of the Más Monumental, but he also wanted to leave one last message for the Albiceleste fans. In those lines, Leo remembers Maradona and also the clubs he played for, for having allowed him to attend his international commitments for so many years.

"I already miss wearing the sky blue and white," begins Messi, who could not hold back tears on his last day with the national team and who experienced a magical night with his family and teammates.

Messi's message on Instagram

"Yesterday was my last match and I already miss wearing the sky blue and white. I know I am making the right decision. It was an incredible journey, full of joys and also some sorrows, but I am sure that every step I took was worth it.

And I had many things left to say. It is impossible for me to express everything I feel in a few words or in a post. This journey would have been impossible without my family, who were always by my side and supported me, especially in the difficult moments, when I needed it most.

My friends were also essential, all the teammates and coaches I had, along with their coaching staffs. I don't want to forget Diego, who put our country where it deserved to be and who, as I always say, I know helped us by being here with us and also from heaven, in every step we took.

Thanks to the clubs I played for, for always respecting my feelings and allowing me to devote myself to my country when it was time for us to put on the National Team jersey. And, of course, thanks to God: without His guidance and His will, we wouldn’t even be dreaming of having made it this far.

I am grateful. I love you all very much, I am going to miss you, and I will always thank you for having been by our side, by my side".
