Mikel Arteta faces Eberechi Eze and Bruno Guimaraes decisions in dream Arsenal XI vs Chelsea

Arsenal take on Chelsea in the biggest game of the new Premier League season so far with two of the capital heavyweights going head to head in north London. Both sides have won their two opening games of the season with hopes of challenging for top honours.

While the champions have managed to keep a clean sheet in both games, the Blues have seen the ball hit the back of their net five times. But they have scored seven goals to ensure they claimed all six points.

The Gunners will be keen to keep their winning run going and their excellent record against the Blues. Chelsea have not beaten Arsenal in the league since August 2021, losing six and drawing three.

Xabi Alonso is, however, in charge and will give Mikel Arteta a new challenge. He will take this on potentially without one of his two starting centre-halves after Cristhian Mosquera came off injured in the game with Aston Villa.

This means in a dream scenario that Ezri Konsa comes in and stars from the start, perhaps even setting up a brand new partnership to take the Gunners through until at least when William Saliba makes his return to the fold. But he will partner Ben White, Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori.

There was further news about Bruno Guimaraes, too, who also missed training on Thursday. He has been carrying a muscular issue since the Community Shield and the club are carefully managing his load.

With players like Myles Lewis-Skelly and Martin Zubimendi available, though, you need not take any risks. Declan Rice, of course, will be starting this game.

Up top, Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz are the starting players in the middle and on the right. But there is a question mark over the left.

Eberechi Eze replaced a poor Christos Tzolis on Monday night, and it has left many with a question over who starts on Sunday. But considering what Tzolis offers offensively and defensively against a strong right-hand side from Chelsea it makes sense to keep things as they are there.
