ON TO THE NEXT ONE! 5 attackers Arsenal could still sign this summer after Rogers transfer setback including Rashford and PSG star

After weeks of speculation that Arsenal were in pole position to land Morgan Rogers, the sight of the England star in the blue of Chelsea will sting for Mikel Arteta.

After all, the Spaniard is seeking quality additions to a squad that won the Premier League for the first time since 2004 last term. And Rogers would most certainly have been that after establishing himself as one of the most exciting young attackers in England over the last couple of years at Aston Villa.

With Rogers' £117million transfer to Chelsea now wrapped up, Arsenal will have to take their search for a new left attacker elsewhere.

The good news is there are still plenty of quality players Arsenal could sign to level up their attack, particularly given they were ready to drop some serious cash on Rogers. Here are five players they could move for now...

Perhaps the most obvious candidate with Rogers now out of the picture, Arsenal's admiration for Barcola is no secret. Nor is the fact that Liverpool have also courted the Frenchman, so this wouldn't exactly be a foregone conclusion. In fact, at the time of writing, it's now emerged that they are confident of BEATING the Premier League champions to his signature, if both teams decide to make their move.

In terms of quality options for the left wing who are realistically attainable this summer, Barcola is right up there. He would represent an upgrade on the departed Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, whose future is uncertain. He has hit double figures for goals in Ligue 1 in each of the last two seasons so can clearly handle the weight of expectation that comes with starring for a team chasing major honours. As impressive as Barcola is, PSG's embarrassment of riches in attack and their interest in Yan Diomande makes him disposable — much to Arsenal's benefit.

Yes, Diomande is seemingly leaning towards a move to PSG if he is sold by RB Leipzig this summer despite strong interest from Liverpool. But maybe Arsenal could pull a hijack of their own if there is an appetite to acquire a marquee name for their attack.

Young, dynamic and capable of excelling on either wing, Diomande would be a real statement signing for Arsenal if things were to fall into place. One obstacle to a deal could be Leipzig's asking price; Liverpool indicated that they were prepared to pay €100m (£86.8m) to sign the 19-year-old. Leipzig are understood to be holding out for €130m (£110.9m)

Yildiz is another player Arsenal are no stranger to given previous links to him. It emerged earlier this month that an enquiry for the 21-year-old Turkish sensation had been knocked back by Juventus, forcing Arsenal to take their search elsewhere.

But with Rogers now off the table, maybe it's time for Arsenal to really test Juventus' resolve by laying down some serious money for Yildiz. Unlike his current club, Arsenal would be unable to offer Yildiz Champions League football. That, plus the chance to be one of the main men in Arsenal's new-look attack, could prove to be persuasive.

This would raise eyebrows, no doubt. But Rashford is a proven, Premier League-ready player. Would it really be that big a punt to pursue the England star after a fine season on loan at Barcelona?

We all know Rashford has had his challenges in recent years. But on his day he is a matchwinner. The caveat is that it isn't his day enough. A fresh start with a strong XI around him, in the familiar surroundings of the Premier League, could make Rashford a shrewd option. Any deal would come in far cheaper than alternatives on this list, too, meaning Arsenal could also spend more elsewhere.

A player Arsenal are no stranger to following links to the Spain international in the past, could a move for Williams be resurrected?

Williams was pursued strongly last summer, only to sign an extraordinary 10-year contract to commit his future to Athletic Bilbao. But with Arsenal now showing they are the real deal after winning the Premier League and coming so close to doubling that up with the Champions League, perhaps Williams could now be lured to north London.

He would be an upgrade on Arsenal's current left wing options. And stranger things have definitely happened when it comes to transfers. After all, Williams' contract is said to include a £90m release clause, so maybe he won't spend the next decade in Bilbao.
