Premier League to publish independent panel verdicts on refereeing decisions this season

The Premier League announced it will, for the first time, publish verdicts from its independent panel assessing refereeing decisions this season, aiming to improve transparency for supporters.

Since 2022-2023, the five-member group has met to vote on incidents and deliver confidential judgments.

Some clubs had already chosen to share the content of those rulings despite their confidential status.

The panel comprises three former players or coaches, one Premier League representative and one member of the UK refereeing body.

The change is one of three measures introduced this season, alongside publishing explanations from match officials and broadcasting live discussions between players and referees.
