£40m Man Utd man now attracting confirmed Premier League interest just weeks before season-opener

Marcus Rashford has suitors in the Premier League waiting to see how his situation pans out.

As things stand, the Manchester United forward is enjoying the final days of his holiday before reporting to Carrington for the first time in over a year to begin his pre-season preparations.

Marcus Rashford: The state of play

Rashford, like Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez, will be returning later than any other teammates due to how long they stayed at the World Cup with England and Argentina, respectively.

Last week, Rashford took to social media to bid a formal and final farewell to Barcelona now that it’s been set in stone he won’t be signing for the Spanish giants.

Even though they had opted against activating his £26 million buy option, there were still reports suggesting that Barça wanted to facilitate another loan or cut-price deal, but nothing materialised due to United being uninterested in such agreements.

Rashford’s record for Barcelona in all competitions last term

Barcelona have since replaced the 28-year-old via the additions of two wingers: Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United and Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.

Who else might want to sign Rashford before the deadline?

According to MailSport, Rashford has garnered interest from sides in the English top flight, with two particularly keen on adding him to their ranks, as well as from teams in Italy, Germany, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

His £40m release clause expired last month, so any new fee would need to be negotiated with United.

However, Chris Wheeler does add that the expectation remains that the Red Devils graduate will be back playing for his boyhood club by the time 2025/2026 gets underway.

United kick off their campaign away to newly promoted Hull City on Saturday, August 22. Meanwhile, Rashford is tied to Old Trafford until June 2028.
