Pundits thinks Arsenal could break Chelsea’s defensive record

With keeping clean sheets no longer an issue, Tony Cascarino believes Arsenal could finally break Chelsea’s record of conceding just 15 goals during the 2004/2005 Premier League season.
Last term, the Gunners were tipped to achieve that feat after starting the season brilliantly and enjoying a fine run of form, but they ultimately could not make it happen.
This Arsenal team has been one of the best in the country for several seasons, and they are finally showing that they can get results and challenge for trophies through their consistency.
The Gunners will do their best to ensure they continue winning, while their superb defending continues to impress most people this campaign. Their ability to prevent opponents from scoring has become one of their biggest strengths.
Arsenal’s defence continues to impress
After keeping another league clean sheet at the weekend, Cascarino said via Metro Sports:
‘I call them the anaconda team because they literally suffocate you and strangle you. In ever department they are brilliant, they are the team to me who could beat Chelsea’s goals against column.
‘What Chelsea achieved a number of years ago I thought would never get beaten. This Arsenal team, whether it’s this one this season or even further down the line they are going to concede so few goals.’
Cascarino’s comments highlight just how impressive Arsenal have been defensively. The Gunners have continued to frustrate opponents and restrict their chances, giving them a strong foundation from which to pursue success.

Gunners could make history
This Arsenal team has been superb, and there is genuine reason to believe they could eventually break Chelsea’s record. Their defensive organisation has been a major factor in their strong performances, and they have shown remarkable consistency at the back.
However, the season is still long, and Arsenal must remain prepared to defend at the same level until the end of the campaign. Maintaining their concentration and defensive discipline will be essential if they are to get close to Chelsea’s remarkable record.
The Gunners will know that breaking such a record requires sustained excellence throughout the entire season. If they can continue producing clean sheets and limiting their opponents, they could give themselves a genuine chance of achieving something that has remained out of reach for so long.
