Raul Jimenez issues defiant message after Black Country derby injury blow

Raul Jimenez has vowed to fight back after a knee injury ruled him out of Sunday’s Black Country derby against West Brom at Molineux.
In a post on Instagram, Jimenez wrote: "I've overcome tougher battles before. Today is just one more."
The striker was hurt during Tuesday’s EFL Cup defeat at Everton. He started at Hill Dickinson Stadium, required treatment after a challenge on the edge of the area, then was replaced before half-time.
He will be sidelined for several weeks. His minutes had been planned, with only the first 45 to maintain fitness. The setback is a blow before the derby and Jimenez is frustrated by it.
The absence means a third missed Black Country derby, after he sat out both behind-closed-doors meetings in 2021 following the serious head injury sustained against Arsenal in November 2020.
The forward returned to Wolves this summer and sealed a late winner at Sheffield United last weekend, but will now watch on as his team-mates chase victory on Sunday.
