Report: Tottenham star Djed Spence stunningly offered to Liverpool and Man United
Tottenham fullback Djed Spence has been offered to Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool as the summer transfer window heats up, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
The versatile defender, who can operate seamlessly on both the right and left flanks, is currently assessing his options ahead of the new campaign as he seeks guaranteed first-team football.
Ben Jacobs: Djed Spence offered to Man United and Liverpool
Speaking on The United Stand, Ben Jacobs revealed that Spence’s name has been actively circulated among top English clubs as a potential target for full-back reinforcement.
“They might sign a right-sided full-back who can play on the other side,” Jacobs said. “Djed Spence is a name on the player side who has been offered around. He’s been offered to Liverpool, been offered to Manchester United.
I’m not aware yet whether the clubs are interested in that deal, but Spence wants to go somewhere he can play week-in, week-out, whether that’s on the right or the left.”
While neither Manchester United nor Liverpool have entered advanced negotiations at this stage, both clubs continue to evaluate options to strengthen their options on the flanks.
Djed Spence open to Spurs exit in search of regular playing time
Spence is open to leaving the North London club if an incoming offer provides a guaranteed starting role.
Despite demonstrating his individual quality in spurts, competition for places in Tottenham’s defensive setup has left his minutes constrained, prompting the defender to look elsewhere for week-in, week-out action.
Fantastic World Cup performances has made him a wanted man
Spence’s reputation received a significant boost following a series of impressive displays on the international stage.
His dynamic, high-energy performances during the World Cup underlined his ability to handle elite opposition and contribute actively to both defensive and attacking phases from full-back positions.
Those standout individual showcases have elevated his profile across Europe. While Spurs decision-makers may weigh whether to retain him, Spence’s ambition for primary selection status could accelerate a high-profile move before the transfer window shuts.
