Veteran guard Payton Pritchard — currently signed to a 4-year deal through 2028 — has received a two-year contract extension from the Boston Celtics. The

reported deal

is worth $44.2 million and takes him through the 2029-30 season.

Pritchard’s deal includes a mutual option for the 2029-30 season, meaning the sides could re-negotiate the final year or decide to go separate ways.

The Celtics drafted Pritchard with the 26th pick in 2020 out of Oregon. Pritchard has steadily increased his production throughout his time in Boston and most recently posted career highs in points (17.0), rebounds (3.9), assists (5.2) and minutes per game (32.3) in 2025-26.

Pritchard was an integral piece of the Celtics’ 2024 championship run, and his jump from 9.3 points per game in 2023-24 to 14.3 in 2024-25 helped him win 2025 Kia Sixth Man of the Year.
