Savinho welcomes 'brilliant opportunity' after completing £85m Spurs move, Aston Villa explore finances for Rafael Leao deal... and Man City are set to go back in for Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez: WINDOW WATCH

It's that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it's sure to be a busy period as clubs look to make big signings ahead of the new season.

Here are today's latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team...

Olympiacos have made an offer to take West Ham defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez on loan.

The Mexico international has also had interest from Real Sociedad and Ajax so far.

Doncaster Rovers are set to sign Aston Villa starlet Tommi O’Reilly on a season-long loan.

A plethora of clubs, including Sheffield Wednesday, have been interested in the midfielder who got over 20 goal contributions in League Two last season while on loan at Crewe.

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Manchester City winger Savinho.

Daily Mail Sport reported last week that a fee had been agreed comprising £75m plus £10m in add-ons.

Roberto De Zerbi's side lost 3-0 at Brentford in their Premier League opener and their new signing will come into the mix ahead of tomorrow's League Cup clash with Charlton. Spurs are also expected to bring in Omar Marmoush in a double swoop from City.

Savinho said: 'It's taken a while but I'm very happy to be here. It's a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.

'As soon as I spoke to the head coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.'

De Zerbi described Savinho as 'a player who brings energy, imagination and quality in wide positions. He has the courage to attack defenders and the ability to change a game with his creativity.

'We’re very pleased to have him with us, and I’m looking forward to working with him, helping him continue to grow and seeing him bring his personality to the team.'

Manchester City are expected to go back in for Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues previously set City a deadline of 5pm on August 13 to pay £120m to get the deal done - a deadline City did not meet.

But contact has continued with his agent Javier Pastore so City know the 25-year-old is open to coming and now they are set to come back in for the midfielder, who played the final half-hour of Chelsea's 3-2 win away at Fulham on Monday night.
