Six players to miss Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham as Roberto De Zerbi gets major boost

Tottenham Hotspur are set to travel to the Midlands to take on Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with a number of players set to miss the Premier League encounter

A total of six players could miss Saturday's clash between Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, with Roberto De Zerbi receiving a positive update on Dejan Kulusevski.

Despite a summer of major spending, it has been a troubling start to Spurs' Premier League campaign.

The Lilywhites endured a 3-0 rout from Brentford on their opening day of the season, with that result followed up by a 2-0 loss at the hands of Newcastle United in north London last weekend.

As a result, De Zerbi will hope to quickly turn the tide when his side meet Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.

The Tricky Trees are hardly in the best form, with a 1-0 loss to Leeds United and a 2-2 draw with Liverpool to show for their efforts in 2026/27 thus far.

However, Reds boss Oliver Glasner has a practically full-strength squad to pick and choose from on home turf this weekend.

Nicolo Savona is the only guaranteed absentee from the action, as he continues to recover from a knee injury from January.

Speaking about the 23-year-old, who has sicne returned to partial training, Glasner said: "Hopefully he can train fully with us in the international break and be back soon after that."

As for Spurs, four players could be missing from the trip to City Ground.

While Kulusevski gave fans a small boost by being named in De Zerbi's 25-man Premier League squad for the season, he is not expected to participate competitively for a matter of weeks.

The Swede has been out of action for around 15 months owing to a kneecap injury, and while he has since returned to training, he is not expected to be pressured into a premature return.

Richarlison , meanwhile, has not been named in Spurs' squad for the season, as his future in north London remains up in the air following a failed transfer to Everton.

Xavi Simons is also not fit to play, as he continues to recover from his own knee injury sustained earlier this year, while Wilson Odobert is still sidelined as a result of an ACL injury sustained back in February.

James Maddison is also a doubt for the encounter with Forest, having fractured his shoulder against Brentford just a matter of weeks ago. While the attacking-midfielder has since returned to training, De Zerbi may look to avoid aggravating a relatively fresh issue.
