Sunderland fans pack Wear and Keel Crossing bridges before Fulham clash in 65-image gallery
Sunderland supporters turned out in force around the city ahead of the Black Cats’ Premier League meeting with Fulham at the Stadium of Light.
From the Keel Crossing to the Wear bridge and the approaches to the ground, crowds lined the river as kick-off neared. Sunderland Echo notes that photographer Chris Fryatt captured 65 images before and after the game.
His gallery reflects the colour, noise and sense of anticipation as supporters packed the bridges and nearby streets.
Matchday scenes across Wearside showed fans converging on the stadium and gathering along the water.
The supporters again provided the backdrop to a busy day, with Fryatt’s pictures charting the build-up and the aftermath.
