Sunderland ‘monitoring’ Tyler Morton as Brian Brobbey update amid £50m Man United links

Sunderland are being linked with Lyon midfielder Tyler Morton, while a fresh update around Brian Brobbey has emerged amid £50m Manchester United links.

TEAMtalk reports that Sunderland are among seven Premier League clubs tracking Morton, the former Liverpool midfielder who joined Lyon in 2025 and has since become a key figure.

The report names Newcastle United, Everton, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Brighton as also watching. It says Liverpool are weighing a return for their former academy player and that Morton is one of several midfield options being followed by Andoni Iraola’s side. It adds there has been no approach and that any move would be difficult given his status under Paulo Fonseca.

Sunderland are well stocked centrally after the summer, with Granit Xhaka, Noah Sadiki, Enzo Le Fée, Chris Rigg and Jules Ahoka available, and Habib Diarra expected back from injury.
