Team of the Matchday: Cavan Sullivan, Antoine Griezmann again prove heroic

Team highlights

The Philadelphia Union cruised to a 5-0 rout of 10-man FC Cincinnati, highlighted by Cavan Sullivan dishing out three assists and Bruno Damiani netting a hat trick. Sullivan has a goal contribution in six straight matches, increasing calls for the 16-year-old homegrown to make the upcoming US men's national team camp roster.

Philly are now nine games unbeaten (7W-0L-2D) since returning from the FIFA World Cup break. Those results have all come under interim head coach Ryan Richter, who previously led their MLS NEXT Pro side.

Antoine Griezmann scored in a fourth straight game for Orlando City, tallying twice in a 3-2 win at rivals Atlanta United. The French superstar has been transformational since arriving this summer from LaLiga powerhouse Atlético Madrid; he is up to 7g/3a in nine matches as the Lions continue their Audi MLS Cup Playoffs push.

St. Louis CITY SC striker Rafael Navarro and Portland Timbers winger Kristoffer Velde traded braces in a thrilling 2-2 draw at Providence Park. Navarro scored his first goals for St. Louis since arriving from the Colorado Rapids in a $12 million trade, while Velde netted two stunning free kicks to add to his team-best 17 goal contributions (8g/9a).

Chicago Fire FC drew a club-record crowd (63,094 fans) for Wednesday's 1-1 draw against defending MLS Cup presented by Audi champions Inter Miami CF.

Homegrown goalkeeper Chris Brady made six saves for Chicago and was only beaten by Casemiro's equalizer, the Brazilian superstar's third straight game with a towering corner-kick header off a Lionel Messi assist. To open the scoring, Fire left back Andrew Gutman curled in an exceptional cross that Robert Lewandowski volleyed home.

San Jose Earthquakes homegrown midfielder Niko Tsakiris continued his breakout season with 1g/2a in a 3-2 win at San Diego FC, and D.C. United striker Tai Baribo climbed to fifth in the Golden Boot presented by Audi race with a brace in a 2-1 win over the Columbus Crew.

Rounding out the TotM starting lineup, New England Revolution right back Ilay Feingold was a super-sub in his team's 2-1 victory at New York City FC. The Israeli international delivered a pinpoint assist on Dániel Gazdag's second-half stoppage-time winner.
