Tottenham's dream starting XI for Brentford clash with two signings and three exits
Tottenham have less than a week until their Premier League campaign kicks off and Roberto De Zerbi's squad is still missing a few pieces

Tottenham will start the new Premier League season away at Brentford on Saturday afternoon. But with less than a week until the fixture, Roberto De Zerbi could still welcome some new additions and sanction a couple of exits.
After back-to-back 17th-placed finishes, Spurs have enjoyed a rather lucrative summer transfer window to date. The arrivals of Jan Paul van Hecke (£52million), Mateus Fernandes (£85m) and Sandro Tonali (£100m) have significantly bolstered the team's spine.

Goalkeeper
Spurs are sorted at the goalkeeper position. With Guglielmo Vicario Juventus-bound, Antonin Kinsky is the undisputed No. 1 heading into the new season and for good reason.
He was heroic at the end of the previous campaign and made saves that helped keep his team in the division. That Champions League first leg against Atletico Madrid is a tough fixture to forget, though.

Kinsky gifted the Spanish side two goals in rather embarrassing fashion and with Tottenham aiming for higher than 17th, he'll need to quickly show that such performances are well, well behind him. If he does crumble, Dubravka has proven in pre-season that he is a worthy deputy.
Defence
No Djed Spence, who has joined Inter Milan for £30m, means that World Cup winner Pedro Porro is again Tottenham's undisputed first-choice right-back. He only returned after an extended break last week but is likely to start against Brentford. Archie Gray can fill in if he isn't up to match fitness.
Micky van de Ven's pre-season has been unusual, as he hasn't featured despite there being no indication he is injured. He could easily miss Brentford, but in a dream scenario, he is fit to start.

The Dutchman can partner new signing Van Hecke, who has played like a warrior in pre-season and will slot in to replace Cristian Romero, who has joined Atletico. Kevin Danso is there too, alongside Ben Davies and Kota Takai, but it's Senesi who'd fill in if Van de Ven is sidelined.
Robertson could make his competitive debut for Spurs at the Gtech Stadium, considering that Destiny Udogie has been injured for the majority of pre-season. Young Brazilian star Souza should be the first exit, as he seeks a loan. The 20-year-old has shown raw talent when called upon and can hone his skills elsewhere.
Midfield
Tottenham's midfield has been revolutionised this summer. With Tonali at the No. 6 and Fernandes at the No. 8, fans can rejoice on Saturday afternoon at the prospect of a competent pairing. The No. 10 is where things get tricky, however.

James Maddison missed almost the entirety of last term with a knee injury and has been used sparingly in pre-season. That being said, he is a significant upgrade on Conor Gallagher, another candidate to play the No. 10 vs Brentford, so he should be risked. Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Matar Sarr all add something different off the bench.
Attack
Spurs' frontline is the primary worry heading into their domestic curtain-raiser. Mohammed Kudus is still out injured, as are Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert and Dejan Kulusevski.
Issues have also plagued Dominic Solanke since signing from Bournemouth and it is unlikely he'll be fit to start. That really only leaves Mathys Tel and Richarlison as senior forward players and one of them should be sold. To craft a dream attack for De Zerbi, we can start by selling Richarlison for a fair fee and loaning out Mikey Moore to Koln.

The young Englishman has wowed in pre-season but needs more first-team football than Spurs can currently give him. He won't be allowed to leave until his team sign a winger, though that's exactly what they'll do in this hypothetical, with Savinho arriving from Manchester City.
He's not the only blockbuster arrival, either. It is clear that Spurs need a versatile forward who can also operate up front and Cody Gakpo fits the mould. He could cost around £60m if the Reds are willing to let him go, though they must sign a winger first before sanctioning his exit.

Gakpo grabbed a goal and an assist in Liverpool's last pre-season clash against Como and if he arrives before the Brentford game, he can start through the middle. Savinho can begin on the right, with Tel on the left.
Tottenham's dream starting XI vs Brentford: Kinsky; Porro, Van Hecke, Van de Ven, Robertson; Tonali, Fernandes, Maddison; Savinho, Gakpo, Tel.
