Manchester United have made contact over a possible move for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes, according to reports in Portugal.
Globo reports that United have 'given up' on signing Ederson this summer. It adds that United made contact with Gomes at the end of last season, but he had already agreed to join Atletico Madrid.
However, it's reported that the player's agent Jorge Mendes angered Atletico, causing them to pull out of the deal.
Atletico are said to have agreed a €45 million (£38.3m) deal for the player.
