West Brom close to signing Levante winger Kareem Tunde

Albion are close to signing Levante winger Kareem Tunde, with the 21-year-old poised to become their eighth summer arrival, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

Boss James Morrison said the move is in its final stages after his side’s 3-2 EFL Cup defeat at Premier League Newcastle United, adding: “It’s close.”

The former Espanyol and Barcelona academy player is expected to join permanently at The Hawthorns. The deal is believed to be worth about £4m in total, with an initial £2.5m.

Tunde broke through at Levante last Christmas and became a regular as the Valencian club avoided relegation from La Liga at the end of last season. A new winger has been a priority for Morrison after the exits of Karlan Grant and Jed Wallace.

Albion also confirmed the £2.5m sale of defender Krystian Bielik, 28, to Championship rivals Cardiff on Wednesday. Morrison and his squad are staying in the north east until Saturday ahead of the early kick-off at Middlesbrough.

The Baggies could be boosted by Tunde’s arrival for the Riverside trip, along with the return from suspension of striker Aune Heggebo.
