England's opening UEFA Nations League Group A clash against World Cup holders Spain was billed as a fantastic way to kick-start the latest European campaign, but La Roja may have other ideas.

It did not take long for Luis de la Fuente's La Roja to break the deadlock at Wembley, bagging the opener just two minutes into proceedings.

With that, Yamal rolled the clock back seven decades to score the third-fastest goal that the Three Lions have ever surrendered at their storied ground, with Scotland (Tommy Ring, 1957) and the Mighty Magyars of Hungary (Nándor Hidegkuti, 1953) the only nations to do so in quicker fashion, needing just a single minute to find the back of the net.

And it is hardly the start Thomas Tuchel would have hoped for this evening on the back of Spain's vaunted defence being a chief reason why they were crowned World Champions for the second time in their history.
