Jayden Bogle shortlisted for Premier League player of the month

Jayden Bogle has been shortlisted for the Premier League player of the month for September, one of eight nominees, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.

The Leeds United right-back scored in the 1-1 draw at Brighton, then impressed in the 4-1 win over Newcastle United at Elland Road.

He played 67 minutes of Sunday’s 0-0 home draw with Crystal Palace, and Daniel Farke’s side entered the international break unbeaten. Despite that form, Bogle was not picked in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

Brighton’s Pascal Gross and Charalampos Kostoulas are also nominated, with Liverpool having two contenders, Alexander Isak and Jeremy Jacquet. Manchester City’s Antoine Semenyo, Brentford’s Kevin Schade and Hull City’s Mohamed Belloumi complete the list.

The Whites conceded only twice in three league games in September and share the tightest defence with Everton. They sit fifth after five matches, with Bogle influential at right wing-back.

Fans can vote to help decide the winner, with public votes combined with those of a panel of football experts. Voting closes at 12 noon on Monday, 28 September, and the winner will be announced next week.
