Impressive wins for Liverpool and Newcastle, while Hull were held by Brentford but the biggest story by far was Man United's 3-0 home capitulation against Bournemouth that looks highly likely to be the end for Michael Carrick. We'll be covering every angle of yet another United saga in the days ahead so keep it with us for all the latest. For now, enjoy your evenings!17:54Damning.17:46Runners and ridersWith Carrick on the brink, Eddie Howe is the clear front-runner with bookmakers as the likely man to succeed him. (Odds via Betfair)17:37How do United fans feel about Fernandes? If Carrick is indeed given the boot, it will be fascinating to see how United fans treat Fernandes. Left on the bench today for undermining the manager in midweek and becoming the face of a players vs manager civil war being played out in public. The reception given to Carrick at full-time shows the strength of feeling is against a squad who have seen off multiple bosses. 17:32Sunderland 0-0 LeedsA brief update from the 4:30 KO... very brief in fact. Half-time and they're scoreless at the Stadium of Light, Brobby with probably the best chance but Trafford denied him. The Black Cats are in desperation mode, propping up the table but could jump out of the relegation zone with a win. 17:22Carrick reaction to applause 'not a farewell'Carrick was given what appeared to be a heartfelt send-off by United fans at Old Trafford, who clearly view the players - who they booed - as the main culprits in United demise. But the manager insists it was not a farewell from his point of view, despite admitting his future is uncertain. Michael Carrick admits he is unsure about his futureUnited are winless in their last eight games in all competitions and the loss capped off a devastating week which also saw them battered 4-1 at Como in the Champions League.17:13MATCH REPORT: Storm Liverpool blows Brighton away! Not to rub salt in the wounds for Man United fans, but their fierce rivals' momentum is heading in the opposite direction after an impressive win over in-from Brighton at Anfield. Here's Lewis Steele's match report from Anfield.Liverpool blow Brighton away as Iraola claims maiden home league winLEWIS STEELE AT ANFIELD: Two goals in four first-half minutes put the game beyond reach for Hurzeler's admirable and exciting outfit as the Reds made it four wins in a row for Andoni Iraola.17:04'An absolute mess' - NevilleNeville, speaking on Sky Sports thinks the inevitable decision is going to be made: The Manchester United fans sung the Michael Carrick song because I think they know what's going to happen here. They've seen this before. He's one of their own and he's popular. But the owners, the sporting department and the players are not popular and they've badly let this football club down. Those two [Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox] tomorrow are probably going to make a decision that will disgust Manchester United fans, but it's probably necessary. It's just an absolute mess.16:55PLAYER RATINGS: Which 3/10 star was totally off the pace in Old Trafford disaster?Man United 0-3 Bournemouth PLAYER RATINGSMichael Carrick is hanging on to his job as Manchester United manager by a thread after his side were handsomely turned over 3-0 at Old Trafford by Bournemouth. Here are the ratings.Have a read of the above from Nathan Salt at Old Trafford, giving his scores out of 10. 16:48OLIVER HOLT'S MATCH REPORT: This was the end for Michael Carrick after his gang of the damned were relentlessly dismantledMan United 0-3 Bournemouth: Carrick on the brink after dire defeatOLIVER HOLT AT OLD TRAFFORD: Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik ten Hag have all met their fates as the branches have been stripped bare.16:41Maguire - 'Something needs to change'The Man United captain insists players need to take responsibility for woeful season so far: We didn't perform well enough as individuals or as a team and we didn't deserve anything from the game. It's not clicking at the moment. Results are not good enough and performances in the last week not good enough. Still early in the season.Got to find something, question yourself, look in the mirror - that's the most important thing - think what you can do more and what more you can contribute to the team and if we do that we'll get somewhere. You have to look after your own performances and take responsibility. This is a huge club and every day you have to prove why you're wearing this badge. At the moment we're not doing enough as players. Michael [Carrick] turned our season on its head last year and we played brilliant football and got brilliant results. This season we haven't performed well enough as individuals. At the moment it's nowhere near good enough and something needs to change.16:34Carrick speaks on United futureA tough interview for Carrick in what in all likelihood is his last game at Man United - accepting he'll 'always do what's best for the club', telling Sky Sports: It was strange mixed emotions at the finish of the game, it wasn't a nice way to end the game. It was a tough day for them and we went into the game being rocked a little bit and you could feel that on the pitch. They're really hurting, the players, the ones I've spoken to. It's not a nice feeling to see the disappointment but you have to accept it, it's the situation we're in at the moment. It's difficult for me to have a day like this and feel the emotion and dynamics, not for me personally but for Man United, it was really mixed, I feel a lot of responsibility, it hurts an awful lot to see us going through this. On Bruno - There is always times in games to change the course of play, those are the decisions we made today. On fans cheering him - It wasn't for me, I'm mixed emotions, feeling it for the players in a tough spell. To have the connection with the supporters in that moment gives mixed emotions and we haven't had results and performances that are good enough. On his future - It is a tough situation, there's no hiding from it, what's next I really don't know. I'll always do what's best for this football club, I've said it all along and don't change that now. I love what I do and position I'm in. I feel the responsibility but we'll have to wait and see.'Key UpdatesCarrick speaks on United futureView postAround the groundsView postFULL-TIME: Liverpool 2-0 Brighton View postFULL-TIME: Man United 0-3 Bournemouth View postMan United 0-3 Bournemouth (Evanilson 71')View postHALF-TIME: Liverpool 2-0 Brighton View postHALF-TIME: Man United 0-2 BournemouthView postMan United 0-2 Bournemouth (Tavernier 42')View postMan United 0-1 Bournemouth (Rayan 38')View postLiverpool 2-0 Brighton (Isak 21')View postLiverpool 1-0 Brighton (Wirtz 17')View postKICK-OFF!View post'City's plight only consolation' View postPremier League state of playView postCould Fernandes be nearing the end at Old Trafford?View post'Strongest Liverpool XI of the season' View postHow's stat?View postCarrick's bold callView postLiverpool TEAM NEWSView postMan United TEAM NEWSView postA big day ahead!View postFernandes DROPPEDView postTOP STORIESStorm Liverpool blows Brighton away!
