Alex Scott injury ‘could keep him out for two months’ before Leeds visit

Bournemouth could be without Alex Scott for up to two months, putting Leeds United’s Halloween trip to the Vitality Stadium in doubt.
The 23-year-old played 70 minutes of England’s 7-0 Nations League win in Croatia on Saturday, his first senior start, then withdrew from Thomas Tuchel’s squad and will not face Czechia on Tuesday. The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports fears he could be sidelined for up to two months, while Sky Sports says initial tests point to several weeks and that he sustained a tendon injury during the win in Croatia.
Scott has returned to Bournemouth for assessment. Even a four week lay-off would likely rule him out of Leeds’ visit on Saturday 31 October.
He has started all five Premier League games this season and scored once. Bournemouth rejected a £64 million bid from Chelsea and are said to value the midfielder at more than £80 million.
The Cherries are already without Eli Junior Kroupi, who netted a late equaliser at Elland Road last September. Leeds travel to Arsenal and Sunderland either side of hosting Manchester United before heading south.
Marco Rose’s side face league matches against Chelsea, Sunderland and Manchester United, plus Europa League ties with Sturm Graz and AC Milan, and they host Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup on the Wednesday before meeting Leeds.
