Marcus Rashford is unlikely to join Arsenal this summer, barring a late U-turn.

As transfer Deadline Day fast approaches, the Gunners remain open to further additions after signing Illan Meslier, Christos Tzolis, Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa.

Standard Sport have revealed the attack, most likely on the left wing, is the area Arsenal will look to strengthen, should an opportunity arise before the window closes on Tuesday night.

Arsenal continue to work on a deal for Julian Alvarez in the background and it is understood that Atletico Madrid could be open to selling to the Gunners for the right price, after standing firm on their refusal to do business with Barcelona.

That said, the Independent have reported that the Gunners could also submit a late loan offer for Rashford.

Any move, according to the report, would be separate to Alvarez and rather as a reaction to the imminent exit of Gabriel Martinelli, with the Brazilian set to join Al-Hilal.

However, The Athletic reported earlier in the summer that Rashford has no desire to leave Manchester United for a Premier League rival, with only a move abroad of interest at it stood at the time.

Furthermore, United were keen to avoid a third loan, with the England international spending the last two seasons at Aston Villa and Barcelona.

As such, unless the 28-year-old has a change of heart and the Red Devils change their stance on a loan deal, it would appear that Rashford will not be heading to the Emirates Stadium.

Rashford made his first appearance for Man United since December 2024 in their defeat to Hull City on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season, replacing Patrick Dorgu at half-time.

He wore the No9 shirt that day, fuelling further talk that he will be staying put.
