Bayern identify Man Utd star as ‘long-term successor’ to one of their most influential players as ‘talks underway’

Bayern Munich reportedly view Benjamin Sesko as the eventual heir to Harry Kane’s throne at the Allianz Arena.
According to Ben Jacobs (via The United Stand), the German giants have identified United’s frontman as Kane’s ‘long-term successor’.

However, any pursuit is likely to come either next year or in 2028, with ‘talks underway’ to try and keep the England captain tied to Bayern for the foreseeable future.
Although Kane is now 33, he’s showing absolutely no sign of slowing down on the goalscoring front, and has only further established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in world football since making the move to Germany.
His unprecedented return of 61 goals and seven assists in 51 appearances last season for Bayern, as well as his seven goal contributions at the World Cup, have put him well in contention to win the Ballon d’Or this year.
How Sesko fared for United in his first year
Alas, it goes without saying that Sesko would have some mighty boots to fill if he were to lead the line for the Bavarian outfit.
From United’s perspective, they’ll have zero desire to facilitate a deal, having been left thoroughly impressed with his efforts across his maiden campaign.
While battling with the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for a starting spot, the 23-year-old notched 11 Premier League goals in the 30 appearances he made.
Sesko’s record under Michael Carrick
Sesko was unfortunate to miss the final three league matches of the term due to an injury sustained in the win over Liverpool at Old Trafford, when he was barged off the pitch and into the advertising boards by Ibrahima Konate after scoring United’s second of the clash.
The problem has kept him out of the side’s pre-season friendlies thus far, though there are hopes he will be fully fit in time to feature against Hull City for matchday one on August 22.
