Chelsea’s defensive issues continue as they draw with Hull City

Joao Pedro rescued a point for Chelsea as Xabi Alonso’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by an impressive Hull City at Stamford Bridge.
Morgan Rogers continued his excellent start to life at Chelsea by opening the scoring after just seven minutes, but Mohamed Belloumi struck twice before half-time to turn the game around for the visitors.
Hull arrived in west London unbeaten in the Premier League and without having conceded a goal, but that record lasted only seven minutes when Rogers found the breakthrough with a superb low finish.
But Hull produced an excellent response. Belloumi levelled after 28 minutes with a fantastic strike before scoring again just six minutes later to leave Alonso’s side trailing 2-1 at the break.
Chelsea pushed for a response in the second half and eventually found one through Joao Pedro after being set up by Cole Palmer.
The Brazilian struck in the 66th minute to restore parity and ensure the Blues avoided a second successive Premier League defeat following last weekend’s 2-1 loss to champions Arsenal.
