Monaco have acknowledged Folarin Balogun’s desire to join Everton and are now working on negotiating a deal with the Toffees to make that happen.

Everton have started the new campaign strongly, with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace and a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in the Premier League, as they try to build on an encouraging last season.

The Toffees are still looking to bolster their attack before the end of the summer transfer window, given the uncertain future of Beto, who has garnered interest from Fiorentina and the general need to upgrade in the position.

Manager David Moyes will want to bring in a replacement if Beto leaves the Hill Dickinson Stadium and Everton have made a bid for Monaco star Balogun, who wants to join the Toffees.

Balogun still has two years remaining on his current deal with Monaco, but with a potential move away from the club still on the cards, he is yet to feature for the Ligue 1 side in the new campaign.

Monaco ‘have acknowledged’ Balogun’s desire to join Everton, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, and they are currently working on a deal that could be worth €40m plus add-ons if a full agreement is reached.

Last term, the 25-year-old made 30 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists in the process.

Besides that, Balogun also displayed strong performances at the World Cup with the United States, contributing to four goals in four matches.

Now with time running out in the summer transfer window, Everton will want to get the deal over the line as quickly as possible to provide another attacking option to boss Moyes.

Moyes will need to know if the Balogun deal can get over the line, as if it cannot, time to switch to and sign an alternative to the striker is running out.
