Etihad Player of the Month: August nominees revealed!
It’s the first Etihad Player of the Month vote of the 2026/27 season!
August ushered in a new era as Enzo Maresca took charge of his first matches since replacing Pep Guardiola as City boss.
The Italian has overseen Premier League victories over Bournemouth and Crystal Palace since the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
Here are our three nominees this month…
Rayan Cherki
With star turns in both of our league wins, Cherki has had a fine start to his second campaign in England.
He came on in the second half of the opening weekend clash with Bournemouth with City behind in the game.
Two assists later, including a bamboozling run and pass for Joško Gvardiol’s late winner, and the game was flipped.
He started a few days later at Crystal Palace and ran the show from the off, with two stunning goals playing a big role in our 4-1 win.
Marc Guéhi
Guéhi’s role in the Bournemouth game was perhaps Maresca’s biggest tactical tweak so far.
A centre-back by trade, he appeared in midfield alongside new man Elliot Anderson and looked at home throughout, even cropping up with the equaliser.
He was back in his trusty defensive role at Selhurst Park. It might have been his former stomping ground, but Guéhi was pivotal to City’s victory over his previous employers.
Joško Gvardiol
Despite starting from left-back, Gvardiol remains a real headache for opposition defences.
Marauding forward to provide an extra man in attack, the Croatian looks so at home in the final third.
He demonstrated that with his composed finish late on to beat Bournemouth as well as picking up an assist against Crystal Palace, all while doing his due diligence out of possession.
The poll is open until 17:00 (UK) on Friday, when we’ll reveal your winner.
