Haaland goes off injured for Norway as Man City handed another blow

Manchester City's week may have just got even worse, with star striker Erling Haaland going off injured while playing for Norway.
Haaland gestured to be substituted during Norway's Nations League match against Portugal on Sunday night. The City striker was replaced by Jorgen Strand Larsen in the 67th minute in Porto with the score at 1-1 after signalling to manager Stale Solbakken.
Portugal then netted a second goal through Goncalo Ramos to take the lead. The home side held on to clinch the victory 2-1, despite a red card for Francisco Conceicao in the closing stages.
Haaland had played every minute of Norway's previous three Nations League matches in this international break. He scored twice in the 3-2 win over Denmark before scoring in the 2-1 defeat by Portugal in the first meeting.

The City star went goalless in the 2-1 defeat by Wales before limping off against Portugal on Sunday night. City manager Enzo Maresca will now be concerned ahead of their trip to Anfield to play Liverpool on October 11.
Haaland has scored seven goals in seven games across all competitions for City so far this season. His form has been crucial to their perfect record in the Premier League, with Maresca's side sitting top with five wins from five games.
City will already be without Phil Foden for the Liverpool game, after the midfielder was sent off for kicking Bruno Fernandes in the Manchester City. There are also doubts surrounding Nico O'Reilly, who was forced to leave the England camp with injury, and Antoine Semenyo, who didn't play for Ghana during the break.
City are preparing to return to action in the league following the bombshell news that they have been found guilty on 114 of the 115 charges by an independent commission.

The club have submitted an appeal, having been found to have used a "disguised funding scheme" between 2009 and 2018 to hide secret funding of more than £830million.
They said in a statement: "The club’s firm position is that, on multiple grounds, the opinion contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe.
"The club is innocent of the accusations made by the Premier League and a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence exists in support of all of its positions, relating to this case.
"We will continue to respect due process and are necessarily restricted in what we can say further until all proceedings are complete."
