“It’s a dream to be here”: Rodri set to seal Barcelona switch and promises to “go for the Champions League”
Rodri has set his sights on Champions League success with Barcelona ahead of his move to the club.
Rodri has landed in Spain to undergo his medical and finalise a £65.4m move to theLa Liga champions from Manchester City.
The 30-year-old has opted to sign for Barcelona despite rival interest from Real Madrid, having informed Manchester City of his desire to return to Spain.
The Cityzens have reluctantly accepted an offer for Rodri, whose contract at the Etihad was due to expire next summer.
After landing in Catalonia to complete the move, Rodri outlined his ambition to 'win it all' at the Camp Nou.
“It's a dream to be here. I am looking forward to working with my teammates and giving my best to win it all,"he said.
"We will go for the Champions League and for every title."
Rodri is set to sign a four-year deal and arrives having captained Spain to World Cup success this summer. The midfielder was named player of the tournament in North America, as Spain sealed a second world title.
He leaves Manchester City having won 12 major honours, including fourPremier League titles, two FA Cups, three League Cups and the Champions League.
