Leeds United ‘to keep’ Lukas Nmecha amid Wrexham push backed by Ryan Reynolds

Daniel Farke is not prepared to let Lukas Nmecha leave Leeds United before Tuesday’s deadline, according to Football Insider. The 27-year-old is currently the only back-up to first-choice striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Wrexham, backed by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have explored a bold move for the German international this summer. The Championship club are pushing for promotion and had targeted the forward despite his Premier League status.

A Manchester City academy graduate, Nmecha joined from Wolfsburg last summer and scored six goals in 31 Premier League games for Leeds last season. He also impressed in the Championship during previous loans with Preston and Middlesbrough.

Leeds are in the market for another striker, with £25 million-rated Dane Conrad Harder heavily linked. Even if he arrives as cover for Calvert-Lewin, it appears unlikely that Nmecha will be allowed to go.
