Leeds United’s net spend ranked 11th amid record Premier League window

Leeds United adopted a measured approach as the Premier League’s spending hit new heights. According to Sky Sports, the Whites ranked 11th for net outlay while adding seven recruits, five permanently.

Only Bournemouth, with three, completed fewer permanent deals. Liverpool and Sunderland also made five, while Hull added 17.

Top flight clubs spent £3.48bn, surpassing last summer’s record of £3.19bn.

Manchester City led the way on £440m after sealing Enzo Fernandez, while Crystal Palace spent a league low £31m. Leeds are said to have spent £86.7m, 15th for gross outlay.

Chelsea raised £409.7m, boosted by selling the Argentine to City. Leeds generated £24.5m, 14th for sales, with Coventry the lowest on £4.4m.

Fees cited include potential add-ons and exclude undisclosed sums.

Leeds invested around £40m in James Trafford and signed Tarik Muharemović, Nico Elvedi and Michael Zetterer, plus free addition Harry Wilson. Jean-Matteo Bahoya and Melvin Bard arrived on loan.

Pascal Struijk, Max Wober and Joe Gelhardt were among those to leave permanently.
