Liverpool and PSG meeting over Bradley Barcola deal

Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are meeting today (25th August) over the potential transfer of French international forward Bradley Barcola (23), according to a report from David Ornstein. The Reds are eager to sign the Frenchman and have made him their priority target before the end of the summer transfer window.

The talks between the Ligue 1 champions and the Premier League club are seen as pivotal to determine the direction of travel on a potential move for the attacker, who has made it clear to Les Parisiens that he is determined to move to Anfield. With less than two years left on his current contract with the Parisian club, Liverpool are unwilling to meet PSG’s asking price of £145m and would prefer to complete a deal nearer to £100m.

Liverpool set to win the race for Barcola?

Several clubs have registered an interest in signing the 23-year-old this summer, including Bayern Munich and Arsenal. Nevertheless, the German champions have completed their transfer business this summer, and whilst the Premier League champions appreciate Barcola’s qualities, they are unwilling to go anywhere near PSG’s asking price making a move increasingly unlikely.
