Liverpool are looking to bolster their forward line in a busy couple of days before the summer transfer window closes. The Reds have agreed a deal to sign Bradley Barcola but know they need to strengthen the right-hand side of their attack and secure a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Andoni Iraola's side have been linked with several wide players before deadline day, with bids for Brighton and Hove Albion's Yankuba Minteh knocked back, and fresh reports linking them to Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr. David Ornstein has provided an update on the reported interest in the Eagles winger, confirming that an enquiry has been made to Crystal Palace, though no formal bid has been submitted as yet.

This comes amid growing interest in Reds forward Cody Gakpo, with both Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly keen on snapping up the Dutch international.

When quizzed on Liverpool's transfer activity and whether the Reds were braced for a frantic window, Ornstein told TNT Sports: "Potentially. Cody has a big decision to make because he's got three very good options. He either stays at Liverpool, where he'll be a great asset - already has been so far.

"He moves to Manchester City, their interest is genuine. Or he goes to Tottenham, and they've been pursuing him - it's been a bit more high-profile - for some time. Pros and cons to all of those options.

"If he decides to stay, then Liverpool will probably park their pursuit of a right-sided attacker, because then they'll have the four wingers already in the building.

"If he decides to go, then Liverpool will look to execute on a deal for the right-hand side as well.

"We've seen that Yankuba Minteh is a target, they've had a couple of bids turned down by Brighton and Hove Albion. And also, Ismaila Sarr of Crystal Palace.

"There's been an enquiry but no bid at this point, so it's a live situation and big calls need to be made in the coming days."

Iraola made it clear that the Reds were actively pursuing a new winger, and he was hopeful of positive developments before the window shuts.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Iraola said: "As you know, we are trying to sign in that position and also, as you know, we cannot talk about players that right now are not ours.
