Nice have confirmed Melvin Bard’s move to Leeds, the 25-year-old leaving after five seasons on the Côte d’Azur. He played his final outing for Nice against PFC on Sunday.
According to L'Équipe, he joins on a paid loan worth one million euros with an option to buy set at five million euros. The left-back will now play in the Premier League.
Bard arrived from Lyon in summer 2021 and made 193 appearances for the Aiglons. Leeds finished 14th in the Premier League last season and are unbeaten in their opening two matches this term, beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 and drawing 1-1 with Brentford.
To replace him, Nice have brought in Niels Nkounkou from Eintracht Frankfurt during a hectic day in the market.
The club also signed Algerian centre-back Abelhak Ben Idder from Paradou. Midfielder Hicham Boudaoui could join Monaco.
