Premier League Team of the Week: Our Best XI

Our weekly Premier League Team of the Week is back for another edition. From impressive debutants to players already in red-hot scoring form, we've selected the best-performing XI from the second round of Premier League fixtures. Who made the cut?

Goalkeeper: Konstantinos Tzolakis - Hull City

Consecutive clean sheets in what has been a dream start to the season forHull City and their new goalkeeper. The Greek international got down low to brilliantly stop Taiwo Awoniyi's effort in a match-winning moment for The Tigers.

Right-back: Amar Dedic - Newcastle United

A terrific start to his Newcastle career. After two assists in the League Cup in midweek, Dedic was impressive again as the Magpies won at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bosnian was a brilliant outlet and set up Anthony Elanga's opener after another adventurous run, while staying solid defensively with five clearances, five recoveries and 4/5 ground duels won.

Centre-back: Nordi Mukiele - Fulham

Mukiele made his mark on his return to theSunderland side with a string of defensive contributions as Regis Le Bris' side got up and running for the season with a win. The Frenchman made a massive 14 clearances on route to a clean sheet against Fulham, and did not lose a single ground duel.

Centre-back: Marc Guehi - Crystal Palace

Assured back in his favoured centre-back role for his return to Crystal Palace. Guehi was confident in possession as he led the contest for touches (124), while barely misplacing a pass (98.2%). He completed 7/8 long balls forward and was not troubled defensively, winning every single aerial duel (3/3).

Left-back: Neco Williams - Nottingham Forest

Lived up toSteven Gerrard's pre-game assessment that Liverpool should not have sold him. Williams was superb against his former side at Anfield, leading the game for duels won, tackles, and chances created. A brilliant challenge denied Florian Wirtz a certain goal, before Williams raced in behind to win Forest a penalty for their second goal.

Central midfield: Nico Gonzalez - Newcastle United

An impressive debut for the recent recruit. Gonzalez came out on top in his battle with former Newcastle favourite Sandro Tonali and showed what he can bring with some excellent long-range distribution. His cross-field pass for Anthony Elanga's goal was outstanding.

Central midfield: Bruno Fernandes - Manchester United

It's been some week forBruno Fernandes. Fresh from winning the PFA Player of the Year award, Fernandes fired Manchester United to a 5-2 win over Ipswich at Old Trafford.

A ruthless finish equalised after Ipswich's opener, before Fernandes sent the giant Kjell Scherpen the wrong way from the penalty spot. He completed his hat-trick with a simple finish to conclude a fine afternoon's work.

Right-wing: Anthony Elanga - Newcastle United

Looks reborn under Matthias Jaissle. Elanga endured a torrid first season at Newcastle in which he did not score a single league goal, but has now become the first player to score in both ofNewcastle United's first two Premier League games of a campaign since Alan Shearer in 2003/04.

Left-wing: Rayan Cherki - Manchester City

There aren't many better footballers to watch thanRayan Cherki. The Frenchman produced a sublime performance as Manchester City eased past Crystal Palace, scoring two stunning goals at Selhurst Park.

His first was Cherki at his absolute best, leaving a trail of defenders in his wake with some fleet footwork before finishing with confident class.

Centre-forward: Joao Pedro - Chelsea

Full marks for endeavour forJoao Pedro, who missed a sitter, scored an own goal, and still left the Stamford Bridge pitch as the standout.

Pedro is playing the best football of his career and scored for the second straight game with a calm finish, before celebrating in front of the Seagulls' supporters. He led the contest for touches in the opposition box and duels won, while adding an assist for Cole Palmer's clincher.

Centre-forward: Erling Haaland - Manchester City

The league's leading marksman is up and running for the campaign with two goals in Manchester City's 4-1 win at Crystal Palace.

The Norwegian rose to meet Antoine Semenyo's cross and head home the opener, before sealing the success with an emphatic fourth of the night for the visitors.
