In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eager to get a deal done for the Spanish goalie before the end of this transfer window.

Sanchez’s Inconsistent Form In The Premier League

Sanchez struggled to be consistent for the West London club in the previous campaign, but managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The Spanish custodian made 50 appearances for Chelsea last season, shipping in 66 goals and earning 15 clean sheets in the process on all fronts.

The 28-year-old is currently among the most experienced keepers in Premier League football. Thus, it is no surprise that Spurs are trying to sign him in this transfer period.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on the cheap this summer.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Snap Sanchez Up?

Sanchez can be a safe pair of hands in goal when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the field. He can use his quick reflexes to make a few top saves at the back and is a solid handler of the ball.

The Spanish sensation has a wealth of experience in the Premier League and knows what it takes to win at the highest level. Hence, he won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham if they manage to get a deal over the line for him in this transfer window.

We can expect Sanchez to bring more quality and depth to Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s backline. He is good enough to challenge Antonin Kinsky for a regular first-team place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

At 28, Sanchez is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent choice for the North London club to consider this summer. He will also help Spurs challenge across all competitions over the next few years.
