Update On Liverpool And Their Pursuit Of This Crystal Palace Winger: What Should Iraola Do?

In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey offered an update on Liverpool and their pursuit of Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr. It has been mentioned that the Reds remain keen on recruiting the Senegalese talent, but the Eagles are unwilling to let him leave in this transfer window.

Sarr’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Sarr enjoyed a good run of form in the Premier League last season when he put in a string of impressive displays on the right side of Crystal Palace’s attack. The 28-year-old found the back of the net 21 times and grabbed a couple of assists in 45 appearances for the Eagles in the previous campaign across all competitions.

The Senegalese speedster is currently one of the most talented wide players in the Premier League. Hence, it is no wonder that the Reds are hoping to land him in this transfer period.

His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on a cut-price deal this summer.

What Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Do With Regards To Sarr?

Sarr has the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out in the wide areas. He has the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Senegalese sensation can strike the ball with venom from long range. Sarr is primarily a right-winger but can also serve as a left-sided wide player or play as a central striker down the middle if needed. He has already proven himself in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Liverpool if they can find a way to get him on board this summer.

Sarr would have added more pace and goals to Andoni Iraola’s frontline. He will also serve as a natural replacement for Mohamed Salah at the Merseyside club.

At 28, Sarr is playing in his prime and could be a real asset in Iraola’s squad over the next few years. Thus, the Liverpool boss would be wise to wait and return for Sarr in January if he fails to sign him on deadline day.
