Yildiz requires surgery and could delay injury return date

Reports from multiple outlets on Wednesday confirm that Juventus star Kenan Yildiz will require surgery to amend an issue that has affected his foot after just one game of the 2026-27 season, which could keep him out for around three months rather than two.

Yildiz needs surgery and could miss three months of action

Earlier this week, it was reported that Yildiz had suffered an injury to his foot that could require surgery and would likely keep him sidelined for around two months of action.

According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport and various others on Wednesday, Yildiz went to see another consultant on Tuesday. It has been revealed that the specific issue is a fracture to the fifth metatarsal in his left foot and that surgery is ‘difficult to avoid’.

La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that the Juventus doctors are now weighing up their options as to where and when the Turkey international will have the operation on his foot, although it is assumed that the procedure will take place as quickly as possible in order to limit the recovery time.

Rather than the originally reported two-month time-frame, it is now looking more likely that Juventus will be without Yildiz for three months, with a return in late November a possible target.

Luciano Spalletti is expected to field either Jeremie Boga or summer signing Kerim Alajbegovic on the left of the Juventus attack in Yildiz’s absence.
