Omar Marmoush set for Tottenham medical as deal agreed for eighth summer transfer

Tottenham’s summer spend has already exceeded the £300million mark

Omar Marmoush is set to undergo a medical after Tottenham and Manchester City reached an agreement over a loan deal with an obligation to buy for the Egyptian forward.

Standard Sport understands the obligation is worth an initial £50million with £5m in guaranteed add-ons and a further £5m in additional add-ons.

Marmoush is set to sign a four-year contract, with the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

It is understood that the deal for Marmoush is separate from the £85m signing of his former Man City team-mate Savio, who joined Spurs on Tuesday and is eligible to make his debut in tonight’s Carabao Cup second-round tie at home to Charlton.

Despite reports, there is no sell-on fee due to Marmoush’s former club, Eintracht Frankfurt.

Marmoush struggled for consistent minutes last season and only made eight starts in the Premier League.

He scored eight goals in 36 appearances in all competitions and arrives at Spurs confident of displacing Richarlison and Dominic Solanke as Roberto De Zerbi’s first-choice striker.

Marmoush only joined City in January 2025 but failed to build on an impressive start to life in the Premier League and quickly fell down the pecking order.

Spurs, meanwhile, have already seen their summer spending exceed £300m following the arrivals of Savio, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke.

De Zerbi has been keen to add Premier League experience to his side, with the club also completing free transfers for Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka.
