Champions League draw LIVE: Start time as five Premier League clubs discover opponents

It only feels like yesterday that the 2025/26 Champions League campaign came to a close when French giants Paris Saint-Germain beat Premier League champions Arsenal to reclaim the crown.

But attention is already turning to the 2026/27 season, with each of the 36 clubs set to play in the competition now assured of their places.

The Premier League will have five representatives in the tournament this season. Last season's beaten finalists Arsenal will take part once more, alongside regulars Manchester City and Liverpool.

They will be joined by Manchester United, who secured their spot with an impressive run under Michael Carrick. Aston Villa will be the Premier League's final representatives after winning last season's Europa League.

It's back to Madrid for this season's Champions League final.

Like in 2019, when Liverpool beat Tottenham, the Estadio Metropolitano will stage the biggest game in club football.

The stadium is home to Atletico Madrid, who moved there in 2017.

For the second season in a row, we start the Champions League campaign with PSG as defending champions.

After finally getting over the line in the 25/26 season, Luis Enrique's charges joined the very illustrious list of teams to defend the European Cup.

And PSG lifted the cup by taking out THREE Premier League clubs in the knockout stages.

They only finished 11th in the Group Phase and had to beat Monaco just to reach the last 16. There they beat Chelsea, before doing the same to Liverpool.

It was Bayern Munich in the semi, before beating Arsenal on penalties in Budapest.

The Premier League will once again have extra teams in this season's competition, thanks to the impressive European performances by English teams.

Last season saw a Premier League team reach the final of all three UEFA competitions, with Aston Villa winning the Europa League, Crystal Palace the Conference League and Arsenal agonisingly losing out in the Champions League.

That all helped the Premier League co-efficient rocket, with Liverpool the team benefitting after missing out on the top four under Arne Slot.

Villa's Europa League win would have been enough to see them qualify for the Champions League, but made sure of the matter by finishing fourth as well.

Manchester United are back at the big table after a stunning resurgence under Michael Carrick, while Manchester City and Arsenal made up the top two.

The draw will get underway at around 5pm UK time, but as we've come to know (and love?) these things often tend to drag.

A few stiuplations have already been made ahead of this season's draw, with a new rule having been introduced.

UEFA have decided that the same fixture cannot be played in three seasons in succession.

The format of the draw is slightly different as opposed to the draw stage of previous years.

As fans will be used to now, each side will play eight times in the league stage, with qualification being decided by a 36-team league table.
